Surrey’s Poetry and Literary Arts Scene

An Interview with Jonathon Narvey at 45 in fortyfive:


…The Southbank Writer’s Program in Surrey is a great example of the kind of programs that are helping cultivate a local poetry and literary scene with new authors and artists. It’s intense (two evenings a week plus weekends) but it’s a great program for finding your voice and finding out who you are as a writer.

Another thing I’m excited to share is that some former students have come together to start a new reading series at the central Surrey Public Library library. Among many of us who are originally from Surrey and New Westminster, there was always a vision that we needed to put something out in Surrey. It became a real focus for us. Now it’s happening with our inaugural reading series starting this March 13.”
