Cynthia Flood’s fourth collection of short stories, Red Girl Rat Boy(Biblioasis 2013), was shortlisted for the Ethel Wilson fiction award in the BC Book Prizes and long-listed for the Frank O’Connor Short Story Award.

January Magazine, Quill & Quire, and the Globe & Mail all named Red Girl as one of 2013’s best books of short fiction, and the CBC identified Flood as ‘One of ten Canadian women writers you need to read now.’ Flood is at work on another collection. In 2014, “The Dog and the Sheep” appeared in Numero Cinq and ‘Food’ appeared in the Malahat Review.”
